Preparing Microsoft Teams for Babbels Phone
Babbels Phone
Babbels Phone is an innovative solution that extends the functionality of Babbels with the integration of telephony within Microsoft Teams. We provide you with step-by-step instructions for implementing Babbels Phone within your company and Microsoft Teams environment.
1. Log in to the Microsoft Teams Admin Portal
Go to the Microsoft Teams Admin Portal, via the link: https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/. Log in with your organization's Microsoft account. The minimum rights required on the account used are "Teams Administrator".
2. Creating the Direct Routing SBC
Within the Teams Admin portal, select “Voice” on the left and select “Direct Routing”

The following window will now appear:

Click on “Add” here.

Enter sbc.babbels.app in the FQDN field at the top
Enter in the description: This is the SBC connection for integrating Telephony in the Babbels application within Microsoft Teams.
Then copy the settings:
- Enabled: Check
- SIP Signaling port: 5061
- Send SIP options: Check
- Forward P-Asserted-Identity (PAI) header: Check (this will allow anonymous calls to pass through)

Leave the rest of the settings intact and click “Save”.
3. Creating Voice Routes
In the Teams Admin portal, under Voice -> Direct Routing, go to the “Voice Routes” tab

Click “+Add”.
Enter by name: Babbels Phone – Voice Route
In the description fill in: This is the default Voice Route for Babbels Phone
Priority: 1
Dialed Number pattern: ^\+?[\d\s\-()]{9,20}$

Click on “Add SBCs”.
In the next window select the Babbels SBC

And click “Apply”.

Under PTSN usage records click on “Add PTSN usage records”

Click on + Add and in the field that appears type: Babbels Phone Usage Record
Check this newly created Usage Record.
And click on “Save and apply”.

The Usage Record will now appear in the table.
Then click “Save”.
